2017 – Norway day 7 – Geiranger and Trollstigen

We continue our trip in Norway. The weather is always pretty bad, a lot of rain, clouds and never sun. The cruise on the fjord was nice, even with clouds.

We wake up pretty early to be sure not to miss the ferry boat to Geiranger. We arrive early in Hellesylt, at the ferry start. So we look at some shops, refuel the car and wait a bit.

Norway – Geiranger

The cruise lastes 1 hour. The times goes fast looking at the wonderful landscape. There are some small farms, high waterfalls and impressive mountains. The most famous waterfall is the Seven Sisters. During the cruise it rains a few but we also see a bit of sun. As we land in Geiranger, there are many cars and buses, so we decide not to stop and go on.

At Flydalsjuvet there are many people. From here you can admire the fjord from the top.

Then we reach the Eagle Road, with another viewpoint over the fjord. On the road we find a gorge. It wasn’t a planned stop, but we take some pics. Later the landscape changes and we are in a green valley. It’s cold and windy now.

Trollstigen

The road goes up till the Trolltigen viewpoint. Here we can see the road we will run soon. The landscape is very nice. While we are here, some clouds come and the road disappears in a ghostly fog.

Trollstigen

We go down along the road (Trollstigen means troll’s ladder). No more stops till Alesund where we will spend the night. It rains a lot now. Se visit a bit the city. Here there are many buildings in juden-style. It continues to rain heavily. We reach the main church, where there are people practicing for a concert. As the rain doesn’t stop, we go to dinner. After it we decide to go back to our hotel and relax. In Norway it rains a lot.
