2017 – Weekend in Valsassina

Saturday July 1st, 2017

Quiet weekend at mountains in Valsassina (I go very often to Valsassina, especially Barzio during the summer, there are many nice hikes with beautiful landscapes and most of them are easy to reach). We stayed just 2 days in Barzio.

On Saturday morning we went there by car. The weather was a bit cloudy. The forecast said it would rain after 2pm. So we decided to go to Alpe Paglio and from there going to Pian delle Betulle. The way is pretty easy, it takes around 20 minutes (walking slowly) on a muletrack.

Probably due to the weather there were really few people around (we met a group of guys and girls at the jungle ride (for who doesn’t know, it’s a track you do on the trees with some stuff like rope bridge connecting the various trees and there are different path, considering the difficulty level).
It was a bit early to go for lunch so we walked till the 2 near pastures: Alpe Oro and Alpe Ortighera. It a nice path with beautiful views over Valsassina, Como lake and Switzerland Alps.
Then back for lunch at Resturant Baitok. It’s a good restaurant (I got polenta with sausage and then chocolate cake as dessert, very tasty).

When we finished, there was some sun, so we lie down in the warm of the sun. After a while dark clouds came, so we decided to head back to the car. We arrived at home before it started to rain.

The next day we did almost nothing, just a short walk to Concenedo and Cremeno (2 towns near Barzio) walking in the wood and stopping in Cremeno for an ice-cream. There were a lot of clouds, but also some sun, it didn’t rain. In the evening, after dinner, we came back home.
