Saturday July 23rd, 2016
Going by car, the first stop is Bassano del Grappa, mainly just to take a break, so we walk a bit till the roofed bridge. Then to Fiera di Primiero: I was here many many years ago, so I didn’t remember anything: we walk in the pedestrian areas with many flowers, we visit the church, and some other buildings.
Now it’s cloudy and a bit cold. Afterwards we arrive in San Martino di Castrozza, where we have booked the hotel, and where we will stay for some nights. We have only few days, so even if the weather is not good, we go around.
After reaching Passo Rolle we leave the car and walk to Baita Segantini, with, behind it, the “Cimon della Pala” (that at the moment we cannot see, because it’s hidden by the clouds). While we go there it rains a bit, but then the sun shines and we can almost see the top of the mountains. Back to San Martino, we relax, we see the town.
Sunday July 24th, 2016
The next day we go by car to Malga Venegia and from there to Malga Venegiota, and again to Malga Segantini. Today the weather is perfect, not too hot, sunny, fresh air…. So wonderful.
When we go back, it becomes a bit cloudy, but no problem. We finish the day in San Martino, relaxing near a small lake.
Monday July 25th, 2016
First stop to Paneveggio to look at some deers, then in Val di Fassa, in Moena. I spent here some summer holidays when I was younger. Campitello, Canazei, a lot of memories. So we head to Passo Sella (it’s getting cloudy), Passo Gardena and back to San Martino.
Tuesday July 26th, 2016
This is the most waited day of the trip: tour around Tre Cime di Lavaredo: landscapes, mountains, everything is wonderful. We park the car near Rifugio Auronzo and hike to rif. Locatelli and rif. Lavaredo.
The path is pretty easy, and it’s really awesome. We finish the tour stopping at Malga Langalm. A short stop to Misurina or some pictures to the lake and the war cemetery of Monte Piana. We still have some time, so we stop to San Candido (it’s always nice to stop here). We go to sleep to Rasun di Sopra. What a wonderful day.
Wednesday July 27th, 2016
Last day of our trip. Short visit to Brunico, then to Val di Funes to see the Odle, but the weather is bad. We hike to Malga Dusler, there is a bit of sun, but the it starts to rain. We would like to go further, but the weather doesn’t allow us to do it. When we are back to the car, we change our clothes, we were totally wet. Going back home, last stop is St. Magdalena to take the last pics.
