2008 – Bratislava: Again to Slovakia

Another short trip (more or less 24 hours) in Bratislava. This time we go to visit also the Devin’s castle, at a short distance.

Tuesday May 6th, 2008

We arrive in the evening and the airport and take the bus that takes us to the station. From there, walk to reach the apartment we booked (a short distance from the pedestrian zone). We Wait a while for the owner (which comes with 2 little children, but very nice).

We leave our luggages and we head to the square of the City Hall where we meet our friend and we go to dinner together. The evening ends so we go with our friend to the bus station. After the greetings, we cross the downtown by foot and go back to the apartment.

We get up enough early and we go to a bar for breakfast, wait a while and then take the bus to Devin that we reach in about 20 minutes.

From here we reach the entrance to the castle that is still closed, then we turn around, walking along the banks of the Danube, and then go back to the entrance. It opens in few minutes and we begin to visit the ruins. As we walk, many school trips start to crowd the main courtyard. We spend almost the whole morning at the castle, in a gorgeous sunny day. Through the center of Devin we reach the main church where we wait a little bit for the bus that we will return us to Bratislava. Lunch in the Square of the Theater.

We walk to downtown, from the City Hall, to Michalska brana, to the cathedral (we visit it inside). While we are approaching to the station to catch the bus to return to the airport, we stop at Palac Grassalkovichov, and we rest in the gardens. At this point we return to the airport where we arrive just in time to resume the flight that brings us home.

The gallery includes also the pictures of the other trip to Slovakia, in the same year.
