Saturday April 12th, 2008
Departure Saturday evening from Milan and arrival in Bratislava at 18.30. First stop at AU Park to make purchases. We pause a little in the hotel to leave your luggage. Already time for dinner and then go immediately to the downtown, a little walk through the streets almost deserted and then enter into a restaurant.
After dinner we continue to walk through the centre, and we notice that now there’s more people.
Sunday April 13th, 2008
Today there is the sun and we wake up enough early to make a tour of the city. We decide not to climb the castle, and then visit the central area with Mikalska Brana, the square of the town hall, and all streets pedestrian stopping for the inevitable photos with the Cumil, then yet the square theatre, the Novy Most, the dome (we can not visit internally now), then again until the central square.
Around 16.30 after a brief break in the hotel we are back in the centre, we pause to eat something in the central square and then arrive until presidential palace. Pause at the hotel and at 19.30 return to downtown to meet a friend who lives in Bratislava, with her we climb on the top of the Novy Most to admire the view of the city and then we go to dinner.
After the pleasant evening, we say goodbye to our friend and return to the hotel.
Monday April 14th, 2008
We rent a car at the airport (we have to wait a little while because there is nobody) and we head to Trnava a city in short distance from Bratislava.
We see the centre, enclosed by walls, not very large, although rich in churches, from the main square run along the pedestrian street, full of shops and come up the walls, we visit some churches and then in the opposite direction until we reach the walls on the other end of the City. Back to the machine, but we have some problems to remove the handbrake and we start to worry, but in the end we do it and we go to Nitra.
Here the sky is cloudy, it also drops a bit of rain, we reach the top of the city, where we visit the complex of St. Emeram Cathedral. Leaving this area, we are hungry, it’s lunchtime and after it we return to Bratislava. It’s still too early for our flight and so we decide to stop also to the shopping mall Avion, where we spend a little time before returning the car and take the flight that brings us back to Milan …. And in less than a month I will be again in Slovakia (Bratislava and Devin).
