Saturday April 5th, 2014
We go by car till Firenze, but we don’t visit the city (already seen in the past). We visit Villa La Petraia, the gardens and the building itself. It’s a bit cloudy. Later we reach Prato and start from the Cathedral. It’s richly decorated inside.
The church S. Maria delle Carceri is closed, so we can see it only outside, and we walk to the near Castello dell’Imperatore. We see many other palaces and churches (S. Francesco, Palazzo Datini, Palazzo degli Alberti, Palazzo Pretorio and we finish with S. Domenico.
We decided to spend the night in Pistoia, so we move there to visit a bit the city in the afternoon. Also here there are some churches we visit: S. Francesco, S. Andrea. We enter the Palazzo Comunale and the Palazzo Pretorio. Then the baptistery and the cathedral. It’s already evening, so as usual, after dinner, we take some pictures with the lights.
Sunday April 6th, 2014
After breakfast we explore the park of our hotel, walking and relaxing. Then we go back to the city center and continue to explore it. And we see more churches and palaces.
We stop in Marti, where there was an ancient couple my grandfather knew. So my mom and my dad talk with them for a while. After lunch we drive to Livorno, mainly to take a break, so we visit a bit the city. From Santuario di Montenero we can see the city from above. Then along the beach and the old town. We are back to the car and we go back home, without any other stop.
