As we land we take the bus that leaves us at the terminus of the subway. When we leave the subway, we look for the bus stop to reach the hotel. We ask a very kind girl (and very pretty), she also takes the same bus and shows us the stop to go down. Left our bags, we head downtown and we have lunch.
We visit the center, along the main pedestrian street, we enter Sw. Mikolaja, the market, Sw. Katarzyny, the canal, the old Rathaus, Sw. Jana and we take a break at a bar (which we will see later is very crowded in the evening). We cross the bridge that rises and we cross the other side of the river and we pass by the small harbour. We have dinner in a place full of cat-shaped objects in every corner. After dinner, we take pics of the illuminated city.
Friday June 1st, 2018
After breakfast, we walk along river (on the opposite side of the center). We wait for the bridge to lower, cross and go to the old crane to visit it internally. Then we climb the tower of the archaeological museum from which we admire the view over the city. We also visit the city hall in the city center.
Then I climb the bell tower of the cathedral and then I visit it internally, with the astronomical clock. In the afternoon we go to Sopot, there are a lot of people both in the center and on the beach. The pier (the longest wooden pier in the Baltic) has a fee, we follow it till the end. In the evening we return to Gdansk, we have dinner at a restaurant along the river and then pictures.
Saturday June 2nd, 2018
I get up early and go out to take the last pictures before breakfast. The reflections in the river this morning are perfect. After about an hour I go back to the hotel, I have breakfast with my friend. It’s time to say goodbye to Gdansk, we go to the airport by taxi.
