2022 – Piacenza and Lodi

A short daily trip to Piacenza and Lodi, where we have been long time ago. It’s time for a new visit.

Alessandro Brusa - Piacenza
We get up early and go to Piacenza. We park the car in the north of the city, near the walls. A short distance away we visit the church of S. Sisto, we see Palazzo Farnese externally and we visit S. Savino. We then reach the Cathedral of S. Maria Assunta. We walk through the pedestrian streets, we pass by S. Antonino and arrive in piazza Cavalli with the Palazzo Gotico. We stop at a nearby gallery for lunch. When we go out it’s sunny, we pass by some monuments already seen to redo the photos. Before concluding the visit of the city we see S. Giovanni in Canale, S. Brigida, S. Sepolcro and S. Maria di Campagna. Our next stop is Lodi, where we see Piazza della Vittoria with the cathedral and the adjacent Broletto, S. Lorenzo Martire and the Tempio dell’Incoronata. Before returning home, we make one last stop in Lodi Vecchio to see the basilica of S. Bassiano. Unfortunately, when we arrive it is closed. We take some pictures outside and get back on the highway, arriving home in the late afternoon.
