Sunday March 20th, 2022
We renewed our museum pass a few days ago, so today we’re going to Milan. As we arrive, we park the car in the usual place, then by foot we go towards Gallerie d’Italia passing near the Bosco Verticale and Piazza Repubblica. We arrive early enough, the exhibition is still closed, we cross the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele and stop at the bar. Then we go to the ticket office of the Duomo and get the tickets that we will use later. We enter the Gallerie d’Italia and see the Grand Tour exhibition. There are various works, some from Russia (should be returned shortly).
After the visit, we go back to the Duomo and get in line to go up to the terraces. The queue is quite fast. We chose to go up the stairs. We take a few photos of the panorama, then we visit the Cathedral internally (there is Mass), and we go down to the archaeological area. The ticket also includes the adjacent Museo del Duomo (which we visit). It’s time to stop for lunch, we choose the restaurant in the courtyard of Palazzo Reale.
Later we enter the Museo del Novecento, it doesn’t interest us much, we see it quickly. Then we walk a bit through the central streets passing by S. Stefano Maggiore, the Università Statale, the Lego store (we cannot miss to enter), the house of the herons, the Villa Necchi Campiglio. As a last stop, before returning to the car, we enter the Natural History museum, where we visit all the rooms. We are a little tired, we have walked quite a bit and seen many museums. So we finish our day in Milan and we go back to the car. In the late afternoon we are at home.
