2005 – Budapest: Again to East

Another trip with Luca, going to Budapest (I always like it) and discovering a beuatiful city: Kosice in Slovakia

Friday April 15th, 2005

For the first time we leave in the morning rather than in the evening. As soon as we arrive, we make a tour of the city with one of the numerous turistic buses. So we have an overview of the most important buildings, then we visit St. Stephan’s cathedral, the Palace of Parliament and the central pedestrian streets.

Saturday April 16th, 2005

We immediately go to the castle, visit the cathedral and the surrounding areas (including the bastion of fishermen), we have a magnificent view of the city. It’s a wonderful sunny day and we enjoy the sun. Then we go down again in the central streets, and later till the Heroes’ Square and Vajdahunyad castle.

Before returning to the hotel, we decide to try a spa, so we go to the Gellert’s spa (the most ancient ones, and very beautiful), the climate is pleasant enough even outdoors.

Sunday April 17th, 2005

We wake up very early, at 6 we take the train to Kosice (Slovakia), where we arrive at 10am. Among the various monuments we see St. Elizabeth along the middle street. There are numerous churches that arise on the sides of the street. The weather is not the best, even if warm, it rains, but shortly after the sun returns.

The downtown is not very big and we see it very well (the train that will bring us back to Budapest will leave at 6pm) and we also have the time to rest, taking the warm sun. Finally we return to Budapest.

Monday April 18th, 2005

We do not see anything because our flight is early, we have breakfast at the hotel and then reach the airport.
