2006 – Krakow: Let’s go also to Poland

Few days to visit the wonderful Krakow. It was the first time I went to Poland, it was a nice trip, and everything in Poland is cheap.

Monday December 4th, 2006

Anticipating the holidays of December 8th, we leave on Monday morning for the first time in Poland. This time we have not booked a hotel but an apartment (we are 3, we have an apartment of more than 150 square meters) on the market square (the main square).

Leaving the luggage at home, we begin to see this beautiful city. We start from the market square with the church of St. Mary and the Fondaco. It’s already December, and in the square there is the Christmas market, which in these two days we cross a lot of times. In the afternoon we visit the Jewish Quarter with its synagogues (and even some churches). Unfortunately it becomes dark soon, but even with the darkness we continue our visit. We go to the castle hill (Wavel) and see the buildings (outside) on the hill, including the Cathedral of SS. Stanislaus and Wenceslaus and admire the view of Vistula river .

Finally through the door St. Florian we see the Barbican.

Tuesday December 5th, 2006

Just get up, we have breakfast near the door S. Floriano and reach the Wawel. There are many sites to visit, but unfortunately our times are not the same, so we separated for the visit. At the end of the visit (it is already afternoon), we return to Market Square, we walk in the area and in the central market.

Wednesday December 6th, 2006

We wake up when it’s still night to go to the airport and we have no more time to visit further the city.
