Thursday April 30th, 2015
We go stright by car to Ljubljana and reach our hotel that is in a central position. After leaving the car and the luggage. we go for a lunch in a near bar. It’s cloudy. We walk till the Kongresni trg, a big square, with some nice palaces around. Then to the river Ljubljanica till we reach the most famous spot of the city: Tromostovje (triple bridge), they are really near one to the others.
Then we reach the Cathedral. Here it starts to rain, so we visit the church and wait a bit till the rain stops. We continue in the pedestrian streets to the Dragon Bridge. We stop to enter the courtyard of the city hall. It’s still early so we decide to go up the hill of the castle. When we go back to the lower part of the city, there is a bit of sun, so we go up (by lift) the Neboticnik skyscraper. Then some pictures and dinner.
Friday May 1st, 2015
Today we go to Bled (a lake with an island in the middle). While going there, we take a short stop in Kranj. In Bled we find bad weather, it’s raining a bit, so we decide not to go to the island. We walk up till the castle, then the main church, the lake front. We stop for lunch.
In the afternoon we go to Soteska Vintgar (a gorge with a path along the river). We didn’t know it, but it was really nice. Then we return to Bled and we stop in Bohinjsko Jezero (another lake, pretty quiet, few people around). Here it rains too, so we stay here just a short time. Back to our hotel in Ljubljana, and after dinner we go by car to the castle for some pics.
Saturday May 2nd, 2015
Last day in Ljubljana, we see the Parlament and the Tivoli gardens. Then we head back to Italy, but first we stop at Matavun to visit the Skocjanske jame: they are caves, really big and high, with a river running inside. It’s really a place to visit.
Unfortunately it’s not possible to take pictures inside. So we stop in Treviso (where we have booked the hotel), we visit the city, with the cathedral, the channels, some churches and some palaces.

We visit a bit more Treviso, then we stop in Vicenza for some hours and back at home.
