2009: Walking in Paris and DysneyWorld

5 days in Paris with 1 full day spent at DysneyWorld (I enjoyed it). We saw all the main sights and museums. It was nice.

The flight takes off on time in the morning, but due to a technical problem, we are forced to return to the airport and change aircraft.

We arrive in Paris about 2 hours late. Immediately we take the shuttle from Beauvais and as soon as we arrive in Paris, go to the Louvre. The museum is beautiful but huge, try to see as much as possible (we have 6-7 hours).

When we go out it’s still clear (it is September, the days are still long), we cross the Jardin des Tuileries, the Arc du Carrousel, and we arrive at the Place de la Concorde. The Eiffel Tower doesn’t seem far away, so we decide to go, passing along from the Invalides and the Champs Elysees.
We return then to Notre Dame and after dinner we take some pictures of the illuminated monuments.

We dedicate the whole day to DysneyWorld. When we arrive, the park is still closed and it’s a bit foggy (later the sun will shine). It’s the first day of school, so there isn’t a lot of people, we can do almost all the attractions without ever being in line for more than 10 minutes.

After breakfast we cross the Marais, we pass from St. Paul St. Louis, the Hotel de Sully and arrive at the Place des Vosges.

We visit the Musee Carnavalet, then we go to the Pompidou Centre and St. Eustache (from Les Halles on the surface, and underground). We go back: Tour St. Jacques, the Conciergerie and Notre Dame (we visit it but don’t climb the tower), St. Germain l’Auxerrois, the Opera, La Madeleine and the Invalides that we visit inside.

We aren’t far from the Eiffel Tower, so we climb to the top, where we can see the sunset over the city. We stay there until it gets dark and admire the panorama of city lights.

When we go out, we go immediately to Notre Dame, it’s still closed but we wait to climb the bell tower (there are already some people waiting).

The wait is rewarded by the sight. After going down, we go to the nearby St. Chapelle (here we have to queue). For lunch we go to Montmartre and we visit the Sacre Coeur. In the afternoon we visit the Orangerie to see the “Water Lilies” by Monet “, as well as numerous other paintings.

We go to the Palais du Luxembourg, cross the gardens and get to the Pantheon. From here we reach the Val de Grace Church. Back to the hotel, we pack up and go to Beauvais.

We arrive after the sunset, we take a short walk to downtown and have dinner.
