2015 – Expo during the day

Tuesday September 29th, 2015

More or less after 1 week I go back to Expo, but this time for the whole day. Expo
has 3 gates, 2 of them open at 10am, the other one at 9am.
We decide to enter at 9am, so at 8.30 we are at the gate waiting for the opening. As the gate opens, some people start to run to reach the pavillons. We don’t run but we head immediately to Italy pavillon (it’s usually one of those you have to wait more due to queue.

At this time there is no waiting, so we can enjoy the visit. At the beginning you can see some famous italian people telling their story, but after it, for me the best part of this pavillon, there are some rooms filled with mirrors and pictures, so you get a beautiful effect being surrounded by landscapes or historical buildings.
After it, there is a room with typical italian trees placed on the map of Italy.
We go back to the entrance and we choose the Qatar pavillon. Inside you can see some typical dishes, but the most intersting part is a dark room, with a kind of “Albero della Vita” in the middle where you can see some pictures of the country.

Next to this pavillon, there is Turkmenistan, not much here, just typical products of the country. Indonesia is smaller, also here some typical products. After it we go to Oman, nice structure.

Next to it, there is Estonia, where the most known part is the seesaw. There are also typical trees inside, and you can  see also some videos of birds. Russia has a big roof terrace and under it there are a lot of mirror that are over the entrance, the visual effect is very nice. On the walls there are some typical products and the “table of elements” of Mendel.
Near the exit there is the restaurant that reproduce a train wagon, with images moving outside the windows.
The next one is Slovakia, inside there are a tree made of flutes and a bird made up of spoons and knifes. If you go on, you can try some 3D glasses that put you in the main square of Bratislava, and from them you can move to other famous places in Slovakia. Very nice.

Then we enter Monaco, it’s made in shape of a port with boxes around the pavillon, mainly some games for children. Turkey pavillon is an open-air pavillon, it could be a fresh area during hot days (today is not hot).
USA pavillon has a vertical garden on one wall, inside the most interesting part is the big terrace on the roof. Iran has a lot of plants and trees, typical of the country, and a nice structure. Austria pavillon reproduces woods, the external walls are made of wood, and there is not a real pavillon, it’s just woods. Pretty cold.
Slovenia has some boxes with salt, where you can walk in it. After there are some typical products if the country. Romania has a man singing music or songs of the country, and on the upper floor a restaurant in a traditional romanian house. France has some plants outside and inside there are typical products hanging from the ceiling. Netherlands is weird, there is no pavillon, just some vans selling food.

Malaysia is made up of 3 giant seeds: in the first one you see a short video of the country, in the second one there is a rain forest and in the third one some traditional stuff. In the Holy See pavillon (a small one) there are some stuff, the most important is a tapestry by Rubens. Then we head to Spain, a big pavillon, but not really special. There are some rooms with video and pictures, and some light effects in a room with dishes.

We take a break at Trentino and we go up to the small terrace. Then we decide we saw all we could, now there are too many people in queue, so we decide to go back home . We go back to the car, walking through the Mediterranean Cluster and visiting some of them (there are few people here).
