2004 – Prague magical atmosphere

Another nice trip in 2004, first year I started to travel with my friends. The choice for this time is Prague, in November.

Friday November 12th, 2004

As in most of our travels, starting in the evening. Only a short wailk in the main square (it’s rather cold) and then back at the hotel.

Saturday November 13th, 2004

Today we start our tour (all monuments are near), we move on foot, without the need to use any bus. Among the first things we see the Powder Tower with its dark appearance, then the long Wenceslas Square with, at the bottom, the Narodni Museum v Praze.

The square is rather crowded, mostly by local people, tourists are few.

We head towards the most famous place in Starometske namesti with the old City Hall and tourists here are much more numerous. Despite the weather is not the best, we visit the City Hall and go on the tower that offers a wonderful view of the old town.

We go to admire Charles Bridge with its statues. Before crossing it, we also climb here on the tower, where, once again, we admire the sightseeing (not very different). Then on Kampa island, the area of the castle, the golden alley and the day is now over.

We go to dinner in Kampa and then a bit around the city.

Sunday November 14th, 2004

In the morning we visit the castle (the day before we saw it only outside) and the cathedral, S. George, again the gold alley.

The days runs too fast and so this day ends quickly.

Monday November 15th, 2004

The visit to the Jewish quarter, with its synagogues and cemetery requires the whole morning, then we go back to the Old City and we see Tyn Cathedral. The evening is rather cold and on Charles Bridge we are alone: never seen so empty.

Tuesday November 16th, 2004

The last day in Prague, we reach (on foot) Strahov monastery and Loreta (no time to visit them and we limit ourselves to outside). We go back to the castle, before resuming taxi to return to the airport.
