We arrive in Bremen in the evening (around 6.30pm). we go to the hotel to leave our luggages. Then we walk to the center. It’s almost dinner time, so we go to Ratskeller.
We expected something better, the place is famous, we didn’t find it special, just nice. We walk a bit after dinner and the we go back to the hotel.
Tuesday March 10th, 2009
After breakfast we go to the center, we cross the Markt (the main place) with the cathedral and the ratahus and walikng through Sogestrasse, we find the pigs statue and we reach the Stadtgraben. Along the river we find a mill (now restaurant). We go back to the center, seeing the Gewerbehaus and through the Markt, we walk in the Bottcherstrasse, just on time to hear the little bells.
At 11 we will have the guided tour to the Ratahus, so we have the time to see Stadtwaage, St. Martini and the inside of the cathedral (the main part of the church is on refurnishing. Then we see the Rathaus and the near Frauenkirche. Back to the river, we reach the library.
Behind the library there is the Schnoor, famous for its little houses. It’s raining. After walking a bit in it, we go inside St. Johannis while outside it’s raining a lot.
At 4.30pm we reach the bus station, where we take the bus to Worpswede: the houses of this town are spread in the wood. You must see it. At 6.30pm we are back in Bremen, a little stop to the hotel, and then again to the center for the dinner. After it we would like to walk around, but it’s still raining a lot, so we go back to the hotel.
Wednesday March 11th, 2009
We walk through Bachstrasse with nice buildings, then we reach again the Markt. Along a pedetsrian street, we arrive at St. Stephani, again the Gewerbehaus, the Ratahus and again inside the cathedral. While we are inside, the sun starts to shine. We take some pictures outside, again in the Schnoor, we take back our luggages and then we go back to teh airport where we have lunch before coming back home.
